Design: Project Week Trophy | CAD
This trophy is designed for the DP1 project week of which me and the team I lead tutored 200 kids at Henan. The theme of this trophy is “Connection”. We saw this chance to communicate and tutor these kids an occasion for us to build connections as well as for these kids to connect with us and the world, as they hardly had met any foreigners before.
For this particular design, a technique in 3D printing called bridging is used. the outer ring is formed completely by bridging three times at each layer and rotate a fixed angle for the next layer, forming a complex 3D web-like pattern. The plate in the middle is supported by a single rod attached to the base, to further strengthen the feeling of “floating” of the center plate. On the plate is the two intercrossing circle, indicating an abstraction our school’s logo and also the connection between us and them.
